After only achieving the completion of two major 100-meter superyachts -"Serene" and "Ocean Victory", there is a strong thrust to attract more business. Fincantieri has teamed up with Guido de Groot, Castleman International and YachtForums' member Christopher Seymour for the designs. As hinted in the title, the 'Griffin' is pegged to be a series and so, there is a 66-meter, 77-meter, 88-meter and 99-meter. For the purpose of the article we will focus on the 66-meter Griffin.

Fincantieri says that the reason for the Griffin series is to demonstrate that they are not solely focused on building above 100-meters. The yard teased the designs at the Singapore Yacht Show which was held mid-last month. However, they haven't revealed alot of information about the yachts. They will offer more information at the upcoming Versilia Yachting Rendezvous (May 10th to 13th).

Accommodation onboard will be for twelve guests in six cabins while fifteen crew will also be lodged. We do not know what the engine package will be except that the top speed should be in the 17-knot region. 1,575 GT will be the interior volume on the 66-meter will a healthy 12-meter overall beam and a full-loaded draft under 4-meters (3.8-meters). From the early renders it is apparent that exterior deck space and relaxation is key. Two pools and a jacuzzi are envisioned with a pool on the aft main deck, one of the bow and the jacuzzi on the forward sundeck. The vessel's arrangement is over four decks above the waterline.
