Feadship Delivers On Their "Promise"

The 51-meter "Promise" otherwise known as hull 701 was recently delivered to her owner. The yacht which is the first Feadship to be rated Ice Class, was launched back in August. She will make good use of her Ice Class rating as her owner intends to take Promise to Polar regions of the world. De Voogt is responsible for the exterior design while Bannenberg & Rowell have done the interior work design wise.

Special features include her specially developed hull, a helipad and what appears to be a tender garage in the aft part of the hull. Not much is known about this vessel as she was built in relative secrecy. Now that she is completed it is understood that she is being shipped to the United States. Vertical and large windows dominate the hull as well as the superstructure and we expect the views from inside are decent. Comfort should be ideal with the Bannenberg & Rowell interior aided by the 10.8-meter overall beam.

We still do not know which model of CAT power she is using but her top speed is estimated to be 14.5-knots. At slower speeds she will achieve a 4,500 nautical mile range. She is certainly something different from the Feadship yard and besides her Ice Class rated structure this Dutch yard should be proud of their achievement. Having built a quality yacht that is just over 50-meters in a world where most yachts are being ordered and built larger and larger.
