The Shadow vessels at a certain niche in this market segment are becoming smaller to fulfill specific roles. The Extra X70 Shadow is an example of this. Shadow vessels are usually much larger designed to carry alot of toys and tenders and fuel and food stores for the mother ship. This vessel can be utilized as a day type boat or as chase tender to a larger yacht.

Onboard and below decks where most of the interior space is the yard appears to make way for two types of layouts for the customer. In the first instance there is the 'Shadow' layout which involves - two crew cabins with private bathrooms, a crew galley and mess, plus one or two guest cabins dedicated for if guests are coming across from the main yacht the X70 is serving. In the second instance, there is the 'Pleasure' layout which takes into consideration a more autonomous stand alone operation catering for as many as four ensuite guest cabins.

The highlight of the vessel is its operational area on the aft main deck which is central to its purpose. The X70, at around 21-meters in length has an aft storage deck measuring approximately 40 square meters which is around 431 square feet of space to work with storing toys, gear and smaller tenders. The X70 enters into the X-line lineup in a unique position too. There is the X56 FAST that sits just below and the X90 FAST that is just above.

Possible storage arrangements call for a 5.20-meter jet tender, two jet skis and two motorcycles being able to comfortably fit on the deck. An owner can also fit a larger 6.5-meter daysailer boat and a pair of jet ski craft in the other arrangement. In terms of power she will be carrying dual 1,000 horse power engines by way of 2 X Volvo Penta IPS D13 D1350s. While the X70 Shadow has a specific niche in the market and lineup, the model is versatile enough outside of the stand-alone and singular role of the smaller X56 FAST.
