  1. Pardo Unveils New Models At Boot Dusseldorf 2024
At the ongoing Boot Dusseldorf show there are a few new premieres and unveilings of new models. The latter took the form in builder Cantiere del Pardo unveiling 3 new models that they were working on. The Grand Soleil 60 Long Cruise, Grand Soleil Blue and the Pardo GT65 are the new models that Cantiere del Pardo has unveiled at the show.
  2. The Pardo GT65 in particular is a manageable walkaround motoryacht which will find its place cemented between the upcoming GT75 flagship (due to launch this year) and the GT52 models (launched in 2022). The Pardo GT65 project centers on the creation of livable and cozy interior spaces, ensuring maximum comfort while preserving an essential connection to the sea. Whether on deck or inside, expansive windows and retractable doors offer panoramic views, embodying the Pardo GT65’s dedication to freedom and openness towards the sea.
  3. Cantiere del Pardo also have the Grand Soleil line of sail yachts and at the show Grand Soleil Yachts are at stand C40, Hall 16 exhibiting the Grand Soleil 40. However, the yard announced the Grand Soleil 60 Long Cruise as well as the smaller Grand Soleil Blue. The Grand Soleil 60 Long Cruise is in the works and will actually make its debut in person at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2025. Ideal for long-distance cruises, the Grand Soleil 60 Long Cruise establishes new benchmarks in navigation, boasting enhanced comfort and seamless sailing, facilitated by its accommodating storage and tanks designed for extended independent voyages. Nauta Design played a significant role in the design of this vessel with their work seen on deck design, interior design and G.A. Naval Architecture was the work of Matteo Polli.
  4. Below deck, the companionway opens into a spacious saloon and navigation station. The open-plan galley is situated forward between the saloon and owner’s suite offering ample space for a full-height fridge-freezer. Owners have the option to replace the day-head opposite the galley into additional storage or technical space. The comfortable owner’s cabin boasts a walkaround French bed – unusual on a 60-footer – and a forward bathroom. Two ensuite guest cabins, a twin and a double, in the aft section accommodate a total of four guests, with additional accommodation for two crew members in the extreme bow.
  5. On the other hand is the smaller Grand Soleil Blue. If you are thinking about sustainability and minimal footprint and are an avid sailer, this small craft might pique your interest. The Grand Soleil Blue, the Grand Soleil 33 feet Daysailer Zero Impact project is a 10-meter sailing boat, a true jewel born from the belief that the initial stride towards sustainability is grounded in quality, ensuring the longevity of the product. Nauta Design's influence crops up on this new design as well seen in the exterior, interior and General Arrangement while Matteo Polli is once again tasked with the Naval Architecture side of the project.
  6. They talk about sustainability with this model and that includes sustainable disposal of the yacht when it comes to the end of its life. End-of-life recycling. Traditionally, composite boats have been built using thermosetting resins, which are very difficult if not impossible to recycle. Thermoplastic resin, on the other hand, allows for easier separation of the resin and glass or carbon fibers for re-use or eco-responsible disposal.
The Grand Soleil Blue will feature a lithium battery bank and electric propulsion for zero-emission navigation. Additionally the installation of solar panels provides renewable energy autonomy by recharging the battery bank feeding the electric motor. The standard battery pack enabling a range of 30 nautical miles at approximately 5-knots, translating to 6 hours of continuous engine operation or 12 hours with the dual battery pack. It will also come with thermoplastic sails. The show started on the 20th of January and continues on to the 28th.
