  1. Closer Look At The Burger Boat 120 RPH
In December, 2020 YF alerted you to the existence of a new design Burger Boat was developing at the time. It was for a 120 RPH (Raised Pilothouse). Today, alot more information on this project has emerged allowing better focus on the design. The design is by Gregory C. Marshall in conjunction with Burger Boat and the yard maintains this yacht will be very customizable for the owner. They are offering a number of layouts and interior configurations. The vessel has been optimized and the design tank-tested at Wolfson Unit in the UK. The interior volume on this Burger Boat 36.6-meter vessel is estimated to be 270 GT. Construction will be in welded aluminium.
  2. One of the interesting facets on this design is the flybridge area. At first glance, it may look like a standard layout but. this area has a lot of potential for entertaining guests. The deck is divided into two distinct zones where the forward portion is a couple steps higher than the aft section. That allows the designers to create two different atmospheres on the same deck. The forward area is a bit more intimate with it being fully covered from above by the hardtop. This area contains the flybridge helm position off to the forward starboard side with built-in seating. Opposite that is mirrored built-in seating for guests. Of course there is direct access to the wheelhouse below. Going aft though is more beautifully built-in C-shaped seating with small cocktail table. Two single chairs finished in the same styling reside on the other side of the space.
  3. Four steps lead you down to the aft half of this deck where one will find a jacuzzi tucked into port side corner while opposite on the starboard side has a grill and the remainder of the space is largely used to store the main tender (20' Novurania Catamaran Tender) and jetski onboard. There is also padded seating aft of the tender too so once the boat is launched this space can actually be fitted with loose furniture or be used for yoga and exercise. It is up to the owner how they prefer to utilize the freed space.
  4. On what may be termed the standard layout on this vessel it will see a five (5) cabin arrangement for up to twelve (12) guests. Of course Burger leaves alot of the accommodation layout up to the owner. In this configuration it will have a main deck master suite with four (4) cabins on the lower deck. Two of the four cabins are doubles with king-size beds while the other two are smaller doubles that can be converted into twins if needed. They also feature pullman berths which adds lodging for an extra person in each of those cabins. While there are no renders of how the cabins will look on board the 120 RPH here is a look of the cabin outfit on "Northland" - another Burger Boat vessel in this general size bracket-.
  5. "Our focus is always on providing options that excite our clients," says Jim Ruffolo, president of Burger Boat Company. "We’ll start with a blank sheet of paper or a concept like the Burger 120 Raised Pilothouse Motor Yacht. Either way, we design and build yachts that our clients can take around the world with family and friends to enjoy all the best that life has to offer." To segway from the President's comments, performance will also be be integral. Volvo Penta power has been chosen for this design which calls for four Volvo Penta D13-IPS 1350s (1,000 horse power units). These are calculated to permit a 23-knot top end and fast cruising speed of 18-knots.
  6. The aft main deck cockpit area is another cozy deck region conducive to dinners at anchor. Six to eight persons can easily be seated here and while it isn't the formal dining area it can be made-up with a formal setting in mind. Dual stairs take you down to the swim platform and a single curving stairs connects to the upper deck. The space can be fitted with television, sound system and other custom features to make the area a fully usable region the majority of the time. Have a look at the recessed-in rails that lead down to the swim platform area and large beach club with sports room.
  7. Up forward on the bow there is a small nook which has a cocktail table and padded seating for guests to utilize, particularly at anchor. The area is easily accessible via two walkways that lead from the main deck up to stairs and over the master suite area and down on to the bow. The walkway is kept secure by railings on the outboard sides and allows easy path not just for guests but for the crew who need to access the forward working deck on the bow. The Burger Boat 120 RPH can sleep up to six crew in three cabins. Length Overall on this vessel is 120-feet with a beam of 25.7-feet and a draft of just 5.03-feet.
