News: Bilgin Launches 47.5M "Lilium"

47.5-meter "Lilium" Launched At Bilgin Yachts

Turkish builder Bilgin Yachts has launched their latest yacht into the water. Her name "Lilium" and if she looks familiar it is because you have seen this design before on a previous Bilgin Yachts build. Lilium is the sistership to the yacht now called "Starburst III" (formerly "Nerissa"). The design of Lilium is by Unique Yacht Design while the interior was done in-house by the yard.

Lilium although she has subtle differences between herself and Starburst III they actually still share similarities. For example the jacuzzi on the bow and on the forward sundeck exist. The fold-down balcony terrace off the starboard side of the master suite has been incorporated again. Onboard Lilium has five cabins to sleep ten guests. The crew are slept on the forward lower deck and have their own mess area. The interior is described as bright and airy and the interior designer at Bilgin İlkay Dovan said, "we tried to imagine even the tiniest details through the look of a kaleidoscope. It was a challenging process to create luminous effect while deciding on the proportions of each material".

Lilium should have a top end of 16-knots while her economical cruising speed will be between 10 and 12-knots. Powering her are a pair of MTU 12V 2000 M72s. Once she completes her sea trials and final work then she will debut to the world at the 2019 edition of the Cannes Yachting Festival in September. If you are wondering why the name Lilium it is because the owners named her after the bulb-growing Lilium Flower.
