News: 50M Explorer Project 'Aries' In Build At RMK

RMK Building 50-meter Project 'Aries'

Announced at the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS), there is a new explorer yacht currently under construction at the RMK yard. This vessel, currently known as Project 'Aries' features an exterior by Hot Lab. The 50-meter vessel is being built with a steel hull and and aluminum superstructure and also started construction as a spec yacht. An owner can come in and customize the interior to their preference. Either way it will be an ocean-going and blue water crossing-capable yacht with an anticipated range in the region of 5,000 nautical miles.

The yard is suggesting that owners can choose the propulsion package which can be conventional diesel engine package or a diesel-electric setup. The utilitarian nature of the boat is reflected in the tender and toy storage on the aft deck. It is really a multiuse space as it can store sizable tenders when underway or launch them to open up the area for al-fresco and entertainment opportunities. The bulwarks fold down to make the space even wider and a pool reveals itself as the centerpiece around which a myriad of outdoor furniture can be established. The crane is concealed and only comes out when maneuvering the tenders and toys.

Keen eyes may recognize this design from before as it really is an evolution of the RMK5000 design. It has been tweaked to benefit from a "newly developed hull of greater volume and exterior area in the forward section". There is still time for an owner to come onboard interior wise and mark their stamp on the project but the completion time is earmarked for 2023.
