  1. CCN Launches 27-meter "Freedom"
Today marked the launching of the 27-meter "Freedom", the newest in the so-called Fuoriserie line by Italian builder CCN (Cerri Cantieri Navali ). This yacht has been well publicized especially owing to who the owner is. Roberto Cavalli, yes the Italian fashion designer was on hand at the launch ceremony. As a result of the two-deck arrangement of the yacht it leaves mainly the lower deck to provide accommodation. The owner took the traditional main salon area on the main deck and made that his owner's suite. He will be able to come out onto the aft deck cockpit which has been specifically designed with privacy in mind.
  2. Freedom was built in all-aluminium and is designed for speed. Mr. Cavalli himself and Tomaso Spadolini worked hand-in-hand on the project. Her power comes from triple Rolls Royce waterjets (two steerable) and one central booster. The benchmark speed for 40-knots has been set and now that she is sitting in the water her preparation for sea trials will confirm this figure.
  3. With the owner's suite on the main deck just behind the bridge, guests will have two cabins situated on the lower deck along with cabins for the crew. One thing that appeared to change from the renderings versus the real yacht is the exterior finish colour. Renders suggested that the exterior would be a metallic silver/grey. It appears she has a dark blue or black hull with the grey superstructure according to the launch photos. Freedom is expected to make her world debut at the coming Monaco Yacht Show (MYS).
