  1. Baglietto launches 42.75-meter "Ancora"

Late July saw the launching of one of Baglietto's latest creations, the 42.75-meter long "Ancora" at the La Spezia facility. Since completing sea trials successfully and finishing, she will head for the Med cruising grounds and then the Caribbean for the winter season.

"Ancora, as the name may indicate, is the second Baglietto 43M of the same owner who fell in love with the 43M displacement concept soon after he purchased his first one. Ancora incorporates all the upgrades, benefits and accumulated experience the owner and the yard gained in the 3 years between the launch of the two vessels.

Ancora is by all means outstanding in all three aspects that any mega yacht consists of- technical specification, interior design and overall system & construction. She is a sound, safe and stabilized ocean going vessel. Ancora is supported by innovative state of the art navigation, communication, audio and video systems, smart house and an exceptional top to bottom extremely elaborated lighting and security systems."

Ancora's interior has been expertly crafted by Art-Line Design. The loose furniture with signature curved and incorporated pieces make this interior unique. The interior is dominated by softer and subdued tones of the color spectrum creating a sumptuous and relaxing atmosphere. However, they are accented by more colorful lighting in selected areas such as the bar and the sky lounge for example.

"Indoors the décor is characterized by the elegance of zebrano wood with polished finishing, fitted in a way to create a contrast between the light and dark essence, mixed with a wise use of Forest Brown marble. The plaited leather on the covering panels makes the environment very comfortable and austere at the same time. The furniture are partially made in zebrano and polished lacquered wood, and wide areas covered with decorated leather.

The outside decks take most advantage of the views by the placement of furniture. Soft seating around the al fresco table on the sun deck or around the jacuzzi pool, the drama is all the same. The jacuzzi has a special feature which according to the yacht's website is an 'infinity pool' designed by Pino G Di Mora. Access to the upper deck is available via a stairway on the starboard side.

The upper deck is the scene of the 'scripted party' as the night fades on. The sky lounge is fit for entertainment. " On the upper deck level the owner has created his dream lounge, with a huge TV and sound system, parquet floor, night bar with wine fridges and some loose furniture to compliment the full length wide sofa that runs all along this space."

The main deck on the other hand is large, spacious and envelops an open plan. Again, the color palette is light and earth toned. The Master stateroom is located to the fore of this deck while the entertainment and gathering spaces are laid out in the main saloon further aft. Separating the two are the formal dining area galley and the main stairwell/foyer.

Down to the lower deck, further guest and crew accommodation is evident. The guest accommodation is arranged in mirror image arrangement on either side of the center line in the amidships region. "The lower deck is totally for the guests: astern there are two double VIP cabins, afore two twin cabins." Crew are hosted in the forward section of the hull in their respective cabins. In the aft, a garage plays host to a sizable RIB tender and PWC's. Ancòra is the sixth vessel launched by Cantieri Navali Baglietto in less than 8 months: The previous vessels were the 42-meter "Natori", 42-meter "Oxygen", 44-meter "Apache II" and 53-meter "Baraka" and 58-meter "Vicky".
