  1. Columbus Yachts Unveil 32-meter 'Liberty' Motoryacht Design
Columbus Yachts continue to stir interest in the megayacht world with continuous releases of new designs proposed to be built by their yard. The latest design is for a 32-meter luxury motoryacht that they are terming 'Liberty'. The day-to-day living onboard the yacht is expected to reflect the philosophy of liberty. The design is being pushed seriously and you will be able to explore the concept in more detail at the upcoming edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). The tri-deck luxury motoryacht will be hybrid in terms of power source. She is proposed to have marine diesel engines, ranging from twin MTU 12V 2000 M94s and coupled with twin 60 Kw Siemens Ecoprop auxiliary engines. This allows the owner to have the liberty to run longer cruises at around a consistent 12-knots with low emission and consumption or have faster journeys at more than 20-knots.

The Liberty range has been conceptualized for owners who enjoy close proximity to the sea. There is provision for a large swim platform and just off it there is a beach area that could be customized with a dinette, American bar, a Spa or a Gym depending on the prospective owner's tastes. One deck above this area there is a small pool, two sunpads and 2 modular sofas with a table to seat up to fourteen people. The sundeck area is designed with the same free spirit offering two different kinds of shading options, with or without T-top. The main superstructure design is based on simple timeless lines exalted by the strong side fashion plates. The Liberty design also makes provision for a RPH variant.

On the lower deck there are crew quarters with the option to have a full galley. Guest cabin layout will depend on what the owner wants but can run up to six rooms onboard. The master suite can be placed in the aft part of the lower deck to utilize the full beam area. In the RPH version the master can be placed forward on the main deck. The Columbus Liberty 32 yacht is now under construction in Palumbo Group Naples Yard and it represents the first unit of a range of fast trawlers from 25 to 38-meters.
