Moonen Presents 47-meter MotorYacht Concept

Dutch builder Moonen Yachts kicked-off the opening day of the 2017 Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) with the announcement of their 47-meter concept for a motor yacht they are calling 'Navarino'. The tri-deck design is penned by Rene van der Velden in collaboration with the yard. Moonen suggests that the yacht will have exploring capabilities and they choose the name Navarino as it is an island gateway to the Antartic region.

The yacht is also designed with more of a feminine feel to it. They have moved away from the notion that an explorer yacht must have a rugged and masculine appearance to be able to look-the-part. Managing Director Emile Bilterijst sums it up better. "There is no golden rule which says world traveller superyachts need to have a masculine design. With her sleek looks and sophisticated main deck layout, the Moonen Navarino will change people’s perceptions of how an explorer should look or who might prefer to be on board. And this is why we prefer to call her a ‘go-anywhere’ superyacht." Accommodation will be for ten guests and they will be able to enjoy the 500GT of this yacht in style and comfort. Tender storage is on the bow and is well protected below the bulwark level. As an explorer type yacht, the Navarino will carry at least 50,000 LT of fuel to supplement her missions.
