Wow! So, I sold my old 50 Bertram back in February to a Wall Streeter who said he was quitting & wanted to get into charter fishing out of Montauk. Anyway, withing a month of the closing, I heard something happend with the new owner & his big plan had to be side lined & the boat was back on the market. I walked by about three weeks ago & the poor old girl was a mess. I started thinking about running her home from Mobile Alabama & all the other fun trips & I felt sorry for the old Bert. Almost a week later, I heard that the FCC visited the marina because a vessel had been transmitting a "very strong signal on chanel 16 for several days". They found the vhf up on the tower had begin to transmit by itself. Help me daddy, help me.........
As a hands-on, gimme somethin' tangible kind-a-guy, I tend to dismiss the super-natural. I know you spent time on the old Bert with your dad and unfortunately, lost him a while back. Call it coincidence or something else that would require a quantum leap in faith, but a VHF hailing for a week after you walk by sounds like something outa the Twilight Zone. Or maybe the boat is still pissed at you and it's been screaming ever since?
