Multihulls magazine in the US has suspended the publication of both Multihulls and The Power of Multihulls for economic reasons.

The magazines' operation stopped at the end of October 2009. In December, the company filed for bankruptcy in the Federal Court in Boston, which was finalised on February 22, 2010.

Based in Quincy, Massachusetts, Multihulls magazine has reported on multihull news for over 35 years. The magazine was present in 105 countries and claimed to be the oldest and most widely read multihull publication in the catamaran/multihulls industry.

The magazine focused on sailing multihulls, whereas The Power of Multihulls focused specifically on power.

Hard time for publishing and especially for a nische market. Hopefully some of the surviving mags will pick up the slack and start carrying more info on multi's. If not, multi's could fall by the wayside and IMHO that would be a loss.

If Brian wasn't reading this, we could tell some really naughty jokes about multihulls mostly going under. :) No, this is starting to get serious about smaller or niche publications and businesses taking a financial hit.

One or two of my supplier who provide classic or hard to find parts are struggling and require up-front payments. I don't mind but each transaction adds a couple of days to dispatch a part when the client wants it "next day".

As an aside, one of our only two all-weather Condor/Commadore ferries managed to catch fire at 3am this morning, thats going to slow our shipping a bit! The joys of living on an Island.

Times are tough for us all, we're all just going to have to suck it up.
