   hello , I,m planing to buy a technema 80 with mtu 16v2000 engines , 1800hp each . about 1500 hours
   
   boat is a 1998 model , can someone give us their experience with the above engines .

   They should be good engines. MTU had some issues right out of the gate with them, (first 150 sets) but should have been resolved. I've seen a higher number of the accessories fail on them compared to MAN and CAT ( injectors, alternators, coolant pump, starters, etc.) but all in all good engines.
