    We own a Symbol 58’ motoryacht, 1986

We are considering re-powering the boat and would like to ask you for your valuable assistance with this matter. The boat has twin Caterpillar 3208 engines with a MG 507, 2.54:1 transmissions. Propellers are 27'' x 27''.

It has been suggested to us that the boat would benefit from a change of the transmission with a different ratio and same for the propellers. Do you feel that any change would benefit the performance of this boat?

    Thank you

As you do your homework on this project, you might want to check out www.boatdiesel.com, they have a lot of stuff on diesel engine repowers and transmissions. Good luck Enrique.
