Having a problem with fuel temp warning, shows 0 deg C at start and sets warning and alarm. On both engines.
Anyone who has experienced the same problem? Faulty sensor? Strange that both engines has the fault at the same time. One master engine maybe?

I see that you're in Sweden.
Surely freezing temperatures are unusual also up there, at this time of the year, but I have to ask:
R U sure the fuel isn't actually that much cold?
MAN offer a pre-heater as an optional accessory, BTW.

Haha, yes it’s up north, but we do have +20 deg C now.
I found a short circuit in the sensor on one of the engines. Have ordered two new ones now. But strange that there was a fault indication/alarm on both engines. Anyway, will replace both and see what happens.
    Thanks!

Pre heater, do you mean glow-plugs or actual pre heating of engine/coolant /oil?

    The latter.
No room for glowplugs anywhere in MAN engines.

I have witnessed heat blankets that can wrap around fuel filters, elements that go inside of a large fuel filter and even a heat exchangeer (with filter) that uses warm engine coolant to warm up fuel before the engine.
And all I worry about is cooling the fuel at it returns to the tank.

It is interesting how different parts of the world must consider fuel temperature and how it is managed.
