Were tied up to Cape Marine waiting for the weather south of us to calm down a lil more. Next to us is this gorgeous sport fisher loading up to go fishing Monday night. Tuesday evening he is back. Already unloaded 6 Tuna, 4 Bull Mahi, one Wahoo.. Captain Andy told me it was O K to publish pictures on the web. This is the second boat for the same owner and he luves this boat. This is hull #7 and it is rock solid. 4-6,7 seas and all was a nice ride. Capt Andy has been in touch with the MagBay kids (sons) a couple of times and he reports great factory support. I'm making this post as I have never looked over one of these puppies before. I have always been a fan of the family's products (original Cabo). Pictures suck compared to actually standing next to one. This is not an ad for the product but an amateurs admiration of the build.
Wednesday and the weather still sux. Capt Andy finishing up his cleaning in the rain and were still to chicken stuff to go back outside. But were off shore tomorrow (Thursday). After all, We are a Bertram and kats & wife will survive. I was promised an adult drink in Ft Pierce tomorrow night. More pics
I like Barrett's boats. It's not just the sheer line or the tumblehome transoms, it's the attention to detail. I'd like to believe YF contributed to MagBay's propagation but his boat's stand on their own merit.
I was on one of their 42s that’s on the second hand market and just love it. Wish they would make a larger express but sounds like they are limited at their current facility.
We know the boat well thats the only 42 we did with a "marlin" short tower. I'm glad you enjoyed the boat! As much as we'd love to continue building the inboard boats the market has shifted away from them at that size and we are discontinuing the 42. A real shame as that boat really is a nice small sport fish. We had talked about a 50+ inboard boat but given the changing market and the cost to tool one up I decided it wasn't worth the effort and investment.
