I don't know if our guy that works on board the Polar Star (ex Northern Star) is still working with the yacht but his latest entry on his website(at the end of April) takes us to his home, New Zealand. What a beautiful place... so.. natural.. looks so not polluted, must be one of the cleanest advanced countries in the world.

Northern Star's Interiors

I just read the review of this ship and must say she is marvelous. Her interiors are near flawless, particularly the use of the carmine red. As pretty as the rooftops in St. Barth's.

The copy of course said that it was "Cerise Red" and not "Carmine". Cerise being the color which students of the MSc programme in Computer Science and Engineering at the Swedish Royal Institute of Technology.

Irrespective of that ... she is aesthetically quite something.

well, i based all my colors by Pantone System, among many others according this table: http://www.perbang.dk/rgb/9F1F4C/ for several Cerise Reds &
http://www.perbang.dk/rgb/DD5A91/ for several Carmine Reds, more rosa etc... Btw: Is not the Yacht Hull, blue?, but then what blue etc...

Irrespective of one's eye, she is a beauty. From the over-sized screens on the Bridge Deck -- lined up like so many iMacs in a row -- to her soft furnishings and naive artwork in the Guest stateroom -- she is tip-top in every aspect.

Noblefibers LLC at their website have a very nice Carmine Lambswool throw. The Carmine Red is at the very top adjacent to the charcoal. The black of the charcoal making the red so much easier to see, especially when looking at swatches which will change colour when on a rounded surface.

It is very nice to keep warm and be, covered.
