    Looking for Modern Maid range cook top. MFG # 0040068.
    This part is no longer available from Maytag.
    These stoves were very common on old Bertram and Hatteras yachts.
    Our unit works like a champ but the cook top needs replacement. Maybe somebody has done some updates and has not thrown the old top away yet.

    Built in obsolescence. A while back the ($10) ring surrounding the burner broke on my JennAir. After a massive search I came to the conclusion that I would have to buy a $4,000 cook top for want of the $10 ring. Fortunately I have a welder friend. You might want to bring that top to a sheet metal shop to see if they can't fabricate one for you.
