Has anyone been following the movements of Le Grand Bleu. She showed up on June 15th just off Saltspring Island, British Columbia. There is a picture of her in the local newspaper. Has she been sighted anywhere else on the pacific coast in the last week or so.

I'm not sure where these pictures were taken, but here are Le Grand Blue pictures. Hopefully some members can idenifty these ports:

Actually, I think all of those pictures were in Lisbon according to the last URL. I found it to be Alfama in Lisbon.

These look to be in Monaco:

I couldn't get the last four to work though, any one else?

BTW - am i to presume the 350Z in your screen name relates to a certain product of the vehicular persuasion? :D

Awesome pictures jrkossmann! Do you have any links to larger versions?

That heli pad looks very small and has really tall railings, must be very hard to land. I don't know if you saw the military helicopter landing that didn't go right in the other thread, but LGB's pad looks far worse and more problem prone. Thanks again for the pictures.

Ace photos jrkossmann! I don't think i understood how wide LGB is until i saw the photo with people sat on the rear platform.

It's good to see 'in-use' shots of these craft so that us simple people can see that they do actually get used :) Thanks again.

The railings are removable. These have become common on a number of yachts, ranging from flybridge decks to swim platforms.

BTW... welcome back Nismo! Good to see you here again. :)

Can anyone confirm the sighting of Le Grand Bleu just off of Saltspring Island, British Columbia this pasted weekend. Would appreciate it if anyone saw her and even better if they have some pictures. This big girl just keeps me panting. :)

Although I did not see Le Grand Bleu around Saltspring Island, it wouldn't surprise me as she has been in and out of Vancouver's English Bay all summer. We don't often get yachts of this size in Vancouver - I think the last time was a couple of years ago when Tatoosh visited - so it was certainly an awesome sight seeing Le Grand Bleu anchored off Kits Beach, just a couple of blocks from my house!

Mike, I have found out that the information was incorrect. It was a novice spotter who told me this and I found out a few days later that it was not Le Grand Bleu.

Love Kits, lived there for two months after my heart transplant. I will say one thing about Vancouver, they should build a monument to all the beautiful women who live there especially around Kits Beach :) :)

    First, cool shots!!!

Second, anyone care to guess what that structure is that the copter rests and lands on?? Is that a cabin/lounge for the helicopter pilot(s)??? Or it is another place to enjoy the aft view????

Anyway, what a cool looking yacht!!!!

    Cheers,

    Mark

It used to be a gym, then Jon Bannenberg redesigned it to make it into a relaxing lounge, and bar.

Yesterday while fishing I had the pleasure of passing the largest private yacht I've ever seen in the Long Island Sound...a real beauty. If anyone wants to get one for me... :)
