A chart will show you if there are any fixed bridges between Stuart and Cracker Boy on the ICW. I cannot remember on whether or not if there are, but I am sure you are capable of looking on your chart.

With 6' of draft I would be very very leary of using Jupiter Inlet. The only instance I would consider using it with your size would be right at high-tide (or very close to it) AND on a calm day.

thanks for that both of you.i have asked half a dozen locals and heard half a dozen differant opinions.i am leaning toward the icw route as any trouble would not be the type to make the news.
on a sad note i saw on the news last night today is the day the charter capt will be laid to rest.
when i go,i would hope to go doing something i loved doing.not because someone is texting while driving next to me.
have a good day all and count your blessings.
the chart shows nothing to keep me from coming to seminole boatyard from the north, but i still want to do a recon with the tender first.i will also ask the fleet of charter boats in jupiter but they are mostly smaller like the one involved in the accident not much draft.

I always try to stick with the main shipping inlets (Ft. Pierce, Lk. Worth, Pt. Everglades) whenever possible. It's just safer. You should have no problems with the ICW. All bridges that don't open are 65'+, and your draft should be OK. Just check the current ICW conditions & alerts.

The poster states he has a 105' mast. Which would be a problem if there are fixed bridges along the way, even at 65'

Missed that. Hmmmm. Still not a problem though. I don't believe there are any fixed bridges between Stewart & Jupitor.

air draft is just as important as icw depth

yes i would certainly make the news if i tried to squeak under the bridge in wpb.maybe i could use the publicity to find a new job though.on a motor boat anyway.haha:D

Demasting a sailboat (or leaving outriggers on a bridge for that matter) is seldom good for career advancement, but it does make for amusing video.:D
