The 70-meter "Polaris" is a new superyacht that was delivered to its experienced owner in 2021. This owner in fact is a repeat client of the Rossi Navi shipyard. They built his predecessor yacht "Parillion" in 2014 (back then known as "Polaris I"). The successor to that vessel is the 70-meter "Polaris". The two yachts share similar design aesthetics despite the current vessel being approximately 20-meters longer than the predecessor.

It is not surprising Team For Design - who worked on the 48-meter predecessor's design- is also behind the design for the 70-meter again working on both the exterior and interior spaces. While the 48-meter Parillion (ex. Polaris I) was made from all aluminum, the current 70-meter has a strengthened steel hull which can take it into the extremes of the Arctic in the North and the Antarctic in the South. Atop the steel hull is an aluminum superstructure.

Inside, Polaris can accommodate up to twelve (12) guests in six suites with the owner having their own secluded master suite area on the upper deck with a private terrace forward. The master suite is an extension of the decor of the rest of the interior spaces onboard. Two VIP grade cabins are forward on the main deck while three doubles are on the lower deck. The elegant interior has a muted yet lively atmosphere and follows in similar vein to the owner's previous yacht. Sophisticated chandeliers, cream, subtle colors and tones run throughout the interior and are seen represented in the master suite as well.

The owner was specific about certain features on the yacht and one of them was a 6-meter pool on the aft main deck. Below we see a glimpse of that pool at the aft cockpit area. Despite being on a 70-meter vessel the space still has a cozy atmosphere. Comfortable loose furniture such as the opposing settees create a communal experience and one that is laid back and losing all sense of formality.

One of the repeating elements on the interior is custom chandelier work. Here we see the main installation onboard that pierces the lobby space and creates a wow-factor effect for guests who traverse the space. Lighting plays a key role in this space with mainly indirect soft casting through reveals and cove applications. Not only is it visually appealing but it also emanates soft illumination. While you are here admire the stone-work on the floor with the intricate border and inlay detailing.

Moving up we come to another guest space, the secondary saloon or the skylounge. Sliding doors at the aft of the room can full open to create a near seamless indoor-outdoor transition from the skylounge to the upper aft deck terrace. Large side windows further help to increase the ingress of natural lighting to the space during the day and affords great views for the guests while they are relaxing in this semi-formal space. Again, note the chandelier installation. We take the stairs and move down to the main deck level where the next space will be the main salon.

The main salon is usually more formal than a skylounge but here the space exudes a now familiar decor. While the skylounge only has aft sliding doors, the forward section of the main salon has side doors that lead to the side decks. Take note that the bulwarks are cut-out to improve views out from the salon.

At 70.20-meters the yacht also stretches to a full width of 12.70-meters helping to realize a 1,542 GT volume and has a draft of 3.35-meters. Naval Architecture is by Arrabito Naval Architects while both the exterior and interior design is the work of Team For Design (Enrico Gobbi). The power and propulsion setup is interesting for this vessel with 3 x Caterpillar C32 1,081 bkW and 2 x Caterpillar C9.3 355 bkW. Top speed is 17-knots with a range greater than 6,000 nautical miles at 10-knots. Tender storage is in the main garage on the aft lower deck on the starboard side. It has enough space for the main tender and a complement of ski's and PWCs.
