I have a 98 Carver 405 with Twin Cummins 6bta. Replaced the transmission oil cooler when noticed trans oil in the exhaust water behind starboard. All was fine until one day it would not stay in gear. No forward or reverse. Sucked out all the fluid and replaced again and ran the engine to circulate for 10 minutes then sucked all that fluid out and replaced it and filter one more time.
Cheers of joy when it actually engaged!!!
BUT…. That only lasted 10 minutes before ending its rotation again. DARN!
I’m in northeast Florida and everybody around here says I need the transmission pulled and taken to Ft Lauderdale!!!
Nobody does this stuff in Jacksonville area????
    Anybody with ideas?
    Thanks Denny

Replace the oil cooler again and keep flushing.

Find Cass's Transmission on Sunbeam road if you need to pull it.

It is a new cooler…. So are you suggesting to replace it with a newer one that has not had that older contaminated oil in it? And I will look into Cass’s.

I hate it when everybody trust a piece of equipment because it's new. If there is water in the fluid, that's where it's coming from.

    Thanks again.
I’ll be reaching out to Cass’s and see what my options are and what they offer.
