Still can't find a picture of Brittania with her Squaresa'ls on the foremast. When I was at school, we had a very early photo of her up on the wall with the mast showing the sails. An ex-pupil, Sir Hugh Casson, was one of the designers and gave the school the picture. Anyone else remember this shortlived adornment?

Think of the poor helmsman, tucked down below, seeing nothing ahead of him (only a porthole to Port) and being guided by those balls above. Hey, hang on. Does any of this sound familiar?
