She is large yes to be on a yacht carrier but it just would mean Dockwise can hardly carry anything else on that journey. They (Galactica Star) have the return leg to the Med booked too!

Read all about it News :: Dockwise Yacht Transport

According to their website "yachts up to 165 meters (541 ft) long can be loaded in impressive numbers on the carrier's dock"

That booking would have to be very expensive.

Interesting I did not know that "Yacht Express" is capable of loading such a huge yacht (214ft) even when she has 'only' got a gross tonnage of 984... biggest I have seen on DYT's flagship was 170ft. Is it for such a big yacht still economic being trapsorted instead of doing the crossing on her own?

With a range of 4,200 NM she is very well capable of crossing the Atlantic.

It could be cheaper to do it onboard that vessel. Insurance may have an impact, and also if they are looking to sell soon you avoid risks.

    Hi,

The amount of fuel to get across the Ocean is only one part of the whole equation.

There could be any reason why it's transported, anything between a lack of sea worthiness or giving the crew leave to wanting to keep the vessel immaculate for sale/charter could be what made the decision to ship the best choice

Apparently she was sold back in September 2013 with no recorded sales price.
