    Hatteras Recognized for Customer Satisfaction...

NMMA Rewards Excellence with Annual CSI Award

NEW BERN, N.C. (Nov. 3, 2004) – Hatteras Yachts was recognized for its dedication to customer satisfaction at the recent IBEX 2004 boatbuilding exhibition in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The CSI Recognition Award for Excellence in Customer Satisfaction was presented to Hatteras by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), in the category “Inboard Flybridge Sedans and Convertibles.” Hatteras was the only manufacturer recognized in the category.
“Hatteras has always been committed to satisfying the customer,” said Bryant Phillips, senior vice president of sales and marketing. “The recognition by our buyers through the Marine Industry Customer Satisfaction Index program is a welcomed confirmation that we are achieving our mission.”

The NMMA CSI Award Program recognizes participating companies that have actively measured customer satisfaction to pursue continuous improvement. Award recipients achieved and maintained a standard of excellence of 90 percent or higher in customer satisfaction over the past year, based on information provided by consumers who purchased a new vessel between July 2003 and June 2004. A minimum of 25 surveys were required to qualify, and all scores were audited by an outside firm. More than 70 boatbuilding manufacturers across all vessel types participate in the Marine Industry CSI program.

“The leadership, focused efforts and commitment to excellence of these companies are showing the way for our industry to move forward to meet today’s consumer expectations,” said NMMA President Thom Dammrich. “With the tremendous growth of the Marine Industry CSI Program in the last year, it is clear that an increasing number of manufacturers are making significant strides in responding to consumer input.”
