    It's that time again for another boat show, this time it is the 2012 edition of the Genoa Boat Show aka Salone nautico Genova 2012. As usual, if anyone is in the area and attending the show, you can post your photos and or relevant information here. Remember, photo size is limited to 640pixels X 480pixels. October 6 to 14, 2012 is the duration of the show.

    Just checked Marine Traffic on GE and it looks like Oceanco's Seven Seas as well as Odessa and Talisman C are in the port. Also showing up is a cool looking expedition style yacht I have never seen before called Akula...

    "Akula" has been around for a while now. Odd that never passed across your radar screen :)

    Ahh, after a quick Google search MUCH has been learned....it was built by Amels in the Makkum yard....which now I realize is owned by Feadship. In a YouTube video interview with Henk De Vries, he mentions the Makkum yard as one they bought from a competitor in 2005 who was not doing well...I guess that he was referring to Amels....

    It is said that Akula means "shark" in Russian. Make of that what you will.......
