CR, do you possibly have an idea also of how much the very same bit of kit costs for MAN engines? My back would certainly appreciate if I'd fit it on my engine whose filters are on the outer side, but I never checked its price... With apologies for the O/T.
Rite off the bat, for me to piece mill that kit together is over $800 PLUS in hardware today. This price does not include the hoses that I would usually make up with their own end fittings. Around another $200. Now, That is the Cummins oil filter adapter set for that big Cummins/FleetGuard $90 oil filter. For dual Detroit filter to remote my junk, it's $1200 in hardware not including the hoses. A few years ago, I remember the dual oil filter MAN kits were around $400 each not including the hose. I remember a customer over looking my work on a pair of V8-900s and marveled about the remote filters for the stb engine. This is what my MAN shop in Texas, jobber quoted me 5 years ago. Same upside-down MAN oil filters. One day, MAN has to go spin-on cartridges on their rec engines. Naw, Pascal is giving this stuff away. I should of jumped on it but my boat is on the hill. Every day, Cuh Ching!!
Good to hear that, thanks. In my boat, the hard to reach filters are on port side, 'cause engines are on V-drives, but other than it's exactly the same setup. Sounds like it's worth investigating further.
