The Everbilt 110v. 3/4 hp pump developed a crack in the underside of the plastic housing; evidently somewhat of a common problem. Several have recommended replacing with Headhunter but they have none and since I have no 12v. back up one yet, want to get this done "yesterday." Anyone have one they would recommend ?
Go to a hardware or big box version and buy a shallow well pump. https://www.homedepot.com/p/K2-3-4-HP-Shallow-Well-Jet-Pump-WPS07503K/312985908
Grundfos SCALA 1 is 115V/60. Had one installed on a OA 64 a couple of years ago. Performs well, no problems so far. It replaced a failed Headhunter.
they ??? Head-Hunter has none? Or Depco Pump has none? Depco Pump has all of these pumps in stock and more. Give them a ring with your hose I/O sizes, electricity available and how much water you want / need to flow. A dual voltage pump system can be designed. On one boat we managed, we installed ShurFlo pumps in 24Vdc and 115Vac side by side. Worked like a champ. On our Bertram. a 32Vdc ShurFlo pump delivers so close to performance of our 230Vac Head-Hunter pump. It is hard to tell what pump is in operation.
Shallow well pump works well although a little loud. problem with the grounfos (and shallow well) is that if you have HH heads it doesn’t put out enough pressure to flush. Don’t ask how I know.
Love the Stainless but I think a little too large for where it would go. Head Hunter has none of theirs; Lewis Marine has 6 on order and none in stock so at the 3rd HD found same model Everbilt that had worked fine and will be easiest to swap. Evidently the Thermoplastic housings have cracking issues on several brands so I'll order a spare housing.
