On the 24/6/2021 the technical launch of project NB-724 took place at the Freire Shipyard n Vigo/Spain. The yacht was designed by Marin Teknikk (Ulysses and Andromeda) and is supposed to have a length of 111 m. The order was first mentioned in 2019, she should be delivered in 2022. The bridge deck was still missing at the launch, probably due to the low overhead height of the slipway crane. Freire previously built the 74 m yacht Pegaso/Naia. Picture by Javier Alonso Castro JAC
Wow. Looking forward to the next set of pictures or videos. No great big swoops or eye distractions, just a nice rational of design & easy on the eyes.
I am surprised that they are building another yacht. All the normal ship yards must have a really waiting time.
She is moored at one of Freire's jetties for outfitting (at present mostly covered by scaffolding and plastic sheets). On the adjacent jetty Freire is working on the 110 m Falkor Too (ex Polar Queen), the new research vessel of the Schmidt Ocean Institute.
There was always talk that the builder of Ulysses and Andromeda was also building a third yacht in the series, this is another MT design, it could well be the third yacht. Hart isn't afraid to use non traditional yacht builders for his vessels. The previous two were a success. Its food for thought
The scaffolding is coming down. I copied the picture from Bannenberg & Rowell, no idea how old it is.
GH. now here come sun and u-81 support wessel owner (ulyesss or andromeda no own) 100+ size vessel build another shipyard
