We had a serious fire this week about one mile west of the Welland Canal . It was an old chicken farm stored inside were over 200 antique cars - boats - stock cars. As the building is out in the country there are no fire hydrants and it was a complete loss. They were saying that the stock cars can not be insured. There has been no value off the damage yet The buildings are 450' long
What a nightmare. I have had dry stack boat stored in an indoor facility like this burn in a fire, the only thing left was the block of the GM Volvo big block. Shame. Glad I had agreed hull value insurance.
Not to make lite of the losses, but the icicles hanging from the burn up cars did spark an extra look. Glad no serious injuries (as reported). Sorry for any injuries. Bless the Fire Fighters. Having carried $2m of insurance just to walk down any dock (more when required), I'm sorry there will be out of pocket losses. Again, you have to look at your environment before you take it on.
