Can any of this forums well informed members advise me on what limits De Vries has for building at their Makkum yard in terms of maximum length and beam? Both for their graving dock and any additional size limitations for exit through the Stevin or Lorentz locks from the Ijsselmeer to the Wadden Sea? Many thanks in anticipation.
Hi, I don't know the exact dimensions but do know that bigger Amels ones out of the same sheds were taken out on a barge through the locks
Hi, the Makkum hall is 170 meters x 37 meters and the dock is 120 meters x 18 meters. Limits to get to the sea I don“t know.
Thanks for answers so far, the Dock and hall dimensions I found quite easily on the net after I posted this question, you'd have thought the lock statistics would be readily available too but not so (that I can find anyway). Anyone else?
