  1. 96-meter Hull XL1006 Arrives At Feadship De Vries Makkum Yard
Two days ago, Feadship's Slob Yard in Papendrecht that builds many of their hulls launched the 96-meter that is XL1006. Feadship could not have picked a more significant date to have this yacht-in-build to transit to the De Vries Makkum yard. It so happened that SAIL Amsterdam was also occurring and we are sure this did not happen by pure coincidence. Now that XL1005 - now "Royal Romance" - has been delivered to her owners, Feadship can work on this nearly 100-meter superyacht.
  2. Not alot is known about XL1006 as Feadship is keeping quiet about the details surrounding the build. However, we do know that the 96-meter superyacht is heavily designed by British firm Redman Whiteley Dixon (RWD). The interior is for sure being done by them and they have a hand in the exterior styling as well. We also know that the luxury yacht will have a large helipad on the bow with the capability of storing the helicopter in a garage below the pad. There is going to be a fairly large pool onboard too, and especially since Feadship has a bit of experience now with the insanely large pool on Royal Romance this one should be interesting, though not as large. As we can see, the superyacht's construction uses steel for the hull and aluminium for the superstructure. As pictured in the photos, the vessel appears to be missing an extra deck. In approximately two years, this yacht should re-emerge from the indoor building hall at the De Vries Makkum yard. Delivery is anticipated to be in 2017.
