  2. The clotheslines to sun & wind dry up is already on top of the house this iYacht. Missing a mast in the middle of the box upstairs. Anyway i like the boat a lot. :) Let's see when it will be complete. George Lucas will get in pocket US$ 2 billions from Disney + shares in Disney new StarsWars episode VII for Lucasfilm in his rent. Let's see if he will construct a such Yacht also.

I like the contrast between Venus and the boats in the foreground.

Interesting in the link to the photo I posted above there, you cannot see into the bridge. Is there a screen there or can the bridge glass turn opaque?

    Recycled iPhone 3's & 4's ?

A deck crew nightmare, period. They even get to clean both inside and out of the "hawse pipe viewing ports!"

And pardon me for asking, but what is it with all of the non-flared bows/axe bows/reverse stem bows these days? That design concept went out 100 years ago because they make for a wet ship in even the calmest of seas. Even navy destroyers have some flare so the green water can be parted, otherwise it rolls right across the focsle into the bridge. Crazy.

Ironic that the Sea Axe support vessel features an axe bow so that all of the expensive, tricked out toys can take on plenty of salt water, and without even the consideration of a garage to stow them off the weather decks.

Form follows function, sometimes.....this one, not so much. Nice condo, dubious ship.

    Just my dos centavos......

I don't think VENUS is as ugly as some posts would suggest - but of course taste is subjective. I do think the hull windows should have stopped somewhere before running all the way forward. The thing that really detracts from the look of the boat in my opinion is that "fence" around the sat domes on top of the bridge. It's likely they're not finished adding stuff up there, but I expect a more conventional looking antenna array would be a no-go. There's probably going to be nothing conventional about this rig.

Venus looks to me like a floating piece of furniture of some kind. All those square angles look great at home, but not in a boat. I'm really really surprised phillipe starck got hired for another boat after "A". But that is only my opinion.

This yacht is BEAUTIFUL!!! I can only imagine what it looks like in person!!! I'm so tired of people spending $200 million and producing the same boring big mega yacht!!!

Steve Jobs was always ahead of the pack!! Congrats to Feadship and the imagination of Philippe and Mr.Jobs for trying something NEW!!!!

Yes... Bravo... maybe it is a submersible... but the pictures sure make it look like a paper boat... albeit glossy paper boat.

So why was this thread moved here where it will be destined to become more difficult to find in the future?

Well to be a little boring, the axe bow is for efficiency - Displacement length ratio. A lot of racing yachts do it, they try and caring as much waterline as they can, hence there "straight up and down" bow and stern. It's all about a boat parting water.

The Sea Axe design is pretty cool, it will save up to 20% on fuel (as they state), much lower wave resistance, so she can get to where she needs to be in what ever conditions... real quick.

I was on Exuma the other day, which is a similar design formula to this, she's pretty good on fuel, but the engineer did mention she rolls, and gets a little wet. She is also of an aluminium construction to be lighter. There's always a compromise .

As for this boat Venus, I would be surprised if there was a suite in the bow, maybe a forward suite with a lounge that carries on into the forward section....? Just the pitch and roll is more noticeable in the front, and something that designers usally recommend not to do.

So more people can find it and forward it on to there friends, I'm guessing this section in Y/F would have a lot more traffic then where it was.

Maybe a "greyed" out stern section might make that area a little more easy on the eyes as well ;)

Yes, it is not easy to use horisontal lines on yachts, I made it this way on a recent idea; http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/159476-post49.html

I think it's fine if you break the lines up like your concepts has, plus the way you have brought the sheerline up so it's covering half of the superstructure, that gives the boat great proportion. And not only does it look good (like your concepts), but would protect and support the superstructure as well.

Venus also has thin deck spacing like... an iPad..... interesting feature to bring to the table. I'm also wondering whats powering this thing... pods, seems to have a high tender garage to create some space for something underneath...?

Also, is it just me or does it seem that anchor is further aft then it should be...? this could be an interesting way to neutralize some pitch and roll in the bow area...?

Syt states she has two engines, I've seen a photo showing three exhausts, and read elsewhere that she has four engines. Perhaps two exhausts per engine? Not sure if the all alu conststruction was meant to go faster or reduce fuel consumption/pollution etc.
