Another Dutch expedition ship is build by Engelaer to a design of Pieter Beeldsnijder, the same, who designed Royal Huismans Athena!

This yard does the majority of her work for Dutch government services like police, firedepartment and customs.

    Here's the link; http://www.engelaer.nl

A few pictures of their expedition ship; it's nice in pictures and even more so in real life (she visited our town to my surprise).

Top quality and tested on the Northsea by all their other products.

    Great Post! :)

This was interesting to me, before your post... I wasn't familiar with Engelaer. As they specialize in pilot boats and patrol boats, it's not a segment of the market I that I know much about. Have to tell ya... I really like their trawler! (or cutter as they're calling it).

Pieter Beeldsnijder has really covered all the bases with this design. The freeboard of a REAL yacht, full walk-around decks, covered aft deck, euro-transom, a flybridge with ample toy storage, etc, etc. There are not too many attractive trawlers in the market. This is a home-run!

    Thanks Erik!!

I fully agree; the Kuipers/Doggersbank is an excellent ship with the same quality as the Engelaer, but somehow the Engelaer has an extra quility, a soul.

I suppose the credit go's to Pieter Beeldsnijder; it has the same charm as the Athena, but then again, a true designer like a Bannenberg has its autogram written all over its design and the same go's for Beeldsnijder.
