I've seen a few adds for this new (?) company and yacht in yachting magazines, they include running pictures of a completed yacht which was apparently to be launched at Monaco. Their web site (http://www.dycgroup.com/) simply says "Coming Soon" and I havn't found any info on the web. The 2300 series is claimed to be able to hold 40 knots in rough weather and top out at 65 knots with her MTU's driving Arnesons, there is also a higher powered 75 knot version out soon. Does anyone have any info about this yacht or company? It may be related to Heesen
Dyc 2300 This boat is built in Turkey by Yonca-Onuk shipyard, based on their boats built for Turkish navy and coast guard. The interior designers are Art-Line of Holland and as to my knowledge Heesen team somehow had a supervisory role as a partner for DYC. The performance of the boats build for Turkish coast guard and navy has been very satisfactory during the years. Therefore, the performance figures should reflect reality.
Is there any relation to Heesen? I saw Heesen's 3700 in a magazine but it was for the Dutch Yacht Corp. instead of Heesen. Any idea?
Thanks guys. She is a little unusual, quite narrow for her length? I guess that helps with speed. The layout is also a little odd, knida makes Wallys look normal. Yonca-Onuk has a web site (http://www.yonca-onuk.com/) that sheds a little light on th family history. Guess I'll have to wait for more info to be released.
It appears that the 2300 series has been mentioned before in this forum...... http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/heesen-yacht/5737-2300-dyc-heesen-project-60-knots.html
This boat was featured in the Nov. 2006 Yachts International. It achieved 61.3kn at those trials. They were looking for 63kn(72mph) but did not get there. They have probably reached that number by now as this was the shakedown cruise. The interior is quite outstanding as it has four race-style bolsters at the helm. Yes the cabins are a bit unusual but with 15'11" beam you do what you have to do to make them work. I do wish they would clean up the foredeck as it looks very cluttered. I would definitely hide that anchor if at all possible.
Beautiful boat, 65-70mph with either CODAG system. The twin turbine package sounds awesome; http://www.yonca-onuk.com/s_36.htm
