    Construction has begun on a sail catamaran that is being described as the world’s largest. This vessel was designed by Van Peteghem Lauriot Prevost and is being constructed at the Derecktor Shipyards. There are other sailing catamaran yachts allover the world but the Gemini will take boast of being the largest, when launched in 2008.

    Stretching to a length 44M, she will certainly be large for a luxury sailing catamaran. She will be built utilizing lightweight aluminum construction for the main yacht. Her rig includes a mast that will stand an impressive 53M above her decks. This amazing charter catamaran will thrill future guests with her three decks. A variety of spaces are scattered throughout these decks.

    With an interior formed by the award winning Michael Leach, pleasure, luxury and comfort would have been place at the pinnacle of the design. On her lower deck, which will be incorporated into the two hulls, will be the galley, accommodation, laundry and so on. 5 guest cabins all with ensuite facilities will adorn the hulls. Accommodation for the 8 crew and a crew mess will be provided.

    The impression is given that the main deck will feature a spacious owner’s stateroom with ensuite facility, VIP-type cabins, dining and saloon region. On the fore of the catamaran will be large trampolines where guests can relax and watch the sea pass underneath them.

    Above this deck will be the open air fly bridge deck. Open space, helm stations, a Jacuzzi, barbeque and alternative dining will describe this area of the yacht. Open space can be utilized in the future with sun pads or loungers. The Jacuzzi will soak your troubles away and after that one could eat away the evening in style with alternative outdoor dining.

    Gemini will carry a wide array or water sport craft or toys. There are to be an 8M and a 4M long tenders aboard. In addition there will be skis, wakeboards, windsurfing and snorkeling gear.
