It is Day 3 of the Cannes Yachting Festival and YF will start with news that did not make it by publishing time on Day 2. On Day 2 Oyster made an announcement signaling their entry into the Catamaran market. Oyster has been a monohull sailing yacht company to this point. The announcement centered around the unveiling of their first catamaran platform, the Oyster C60. The 19.4-meter craft has been developed in partnership with multihull specialist Berret-Racoupeau. Oyster says that blue-water cruising will continue to be a major part of the experience and capability on the C60 model.

"The Oyster C60 is an opportunity to respond to demand without compromising what has defined Oyster since its founding," said Stefan Zimmermann Zschocke, CEO of Oyster Yachts. "We have taken that knowledge and have applied it to a yacht designed from the outset around the advantages of a multihull. It gives our existing owners another choice, while opening the Oyster family to sailors who may not previously have considered an Oyster."

Yesterday Maiora unveiled details on the in-build SuperNova 50 but they also revealed another new model, the M|53. This will be an addition to the M series of yachts from the yard taking it to the top of that model range. The new 53-meter yacht has its exterior design drawn by Luca Dini while Naval Architecture is the work of NAMES Studio. This vessel too will be built in steel and aluminium like the 50-meter SuperNova. At 53-meters in length the M|53 will have an impressive beam of 9.15-meters leading to an overall internal volume of 499 GT.

Accommodation is envisaged to be in a 6 cabin arrangement where there is provision to sleep up to 12 guests. The master suite is on the main deck forward but allows private access to a forward terrace area that has a small pool. The master suite is large encompassing approximately 100-square-meters of indoor-outdoor living area. Making up that space includes the pool on the forward terrace, a wellness area, study attached to the room, dedicated ensuite bathroom facilities. MAN is the engine manufacturer although they were not specified they should be able to take the vessel to a 16.5-knot top speed and economic cruising at 10-knots.

The yacht focuses alot on outdoor living as each exterior deck has multiple areas that guests can stretch-out and relax on. Down on the transom is where you will find the main pool of the vessel where there is an arrangement like what Benetti started with the Oasis Deck concept. The space comes alive with fold-down terrace wings, the pool with waterfall feature, three distinct levels on this aft deck area too. Atop the hardtop that partially shades the mid-portion of the sundeck they made into secluded lounge space complete with its own bimini to keep you shaded in the afternoon sun. Maiora also detailed the M|38 model more at the show. The M|38 was announced in March 2025 so in this case it was adding to the information already out there about this particular model.

Today's news starts with an announcement from Arcadia Yachts for their newest model, the A125 -which would be their flagship model-. The yacht is already in the works and will be ready for 2028 to make its world premiere at the 2028 Cannes Yachts. Arcadia presented some teasing silhouettes of the vessel in question keeping mystery. We do know that the vessel will have a 5 cabin layout for up to 10 guests while a crew of 7 can be slept in 4 cabins. There is room for alternate guest layouts should the owner specify differently. The interior volume is set at 299 GT.

Absolute Yachts made announcements too with the revelation of their new Vedetta 84 flagship model and the smaller 62 FLY model. The Vedetta is a new name in the range lineup and the 84 is the first to have this designation. Vedetta is an Italian word that suggest being high and looking out to the horizon. Therefore, the yachts design is that of a wide-body raised pilot house giving that effect of looking out high to the horizon. Absolute is starting to move in a new direction and the new models is a glimpse into that. With the 62 Fly expected in spring 2027 and the Vedetta 84 scheduled for September of the same year, the new identity presented at Cannes therefore takes on a function that goes beyond rebranding: building a common language between product, communication, and the future development of the range, focusing on a concept of luxury less tied to display and more focused on the onboard experience, privacy, exploration, and a direct connection with the sea.

Absolute had a 62 FLY model before that ran in production between 2019 and the early 2020s but the new announcement concerns the new generation for the 62 FLY which moves on from that with modern styling, open cockpit layout, movable furniture and revised layout overall. Onboard will be what the yard describes as two owner-level cabins (the master suite itself and a large VIP that is just as big as the master and finished to the same level).
