Cost of 40m Custom Motor yacht

    Does a custom designed 40m yacht need to be more expensive than a standard manufacture one such as a sunseeker? If so by what factor.

    I am looking for an innovitive custom design for a fractional ownership program. What should a naval architect be charging for an inital sketch design with computer plans elevations etc?

    Any recommendations for cutting edge motor yacht designers?

    It can be both more or less expensive since a custom design is just that.

    Fractional ownership on the other hand may need a mainstream production boat design to be appreciated. But who wants to buy a fraction of a yacht at all?

    I don´t know what naval architects are charging, but a yacht designer can probably make something for about USD 1.000 per meter....:)
