Getting ready to replace the toilets in our Chris Craft 480 Catalina cruiser and looking for recommendations on composting toilets. I've done a bit of research and like the Air Heads Brand so far, but what do those that have composting toilets think of their selection, pros and cons please?

    Thanks in advance
    Rich

    "composting toilets" ?
    Please tell me your kidding.
I have been on these equipped boats.

Your on the coast, Not in a No Discharge Zone (NDZ). Treat your discharge with a poo cooker or chlorine treatment.
Order in a MSD I /II Raritan Electroscan or Purasan. We venture inland and the Purasan works great for both water types.

    But wait, there is more;
The Incinolet. The ultimate poo cooker.
It burns your waist, and some boats.
    Don't even look there.

Not kidding at all, guess I should have added more information...
First off the boat is not plumbed to discharge waste. Only equipped and plumbed to store waste and use a pumpout station.
Therefore it made more sense to me to go composting than any other style of toilet, or would I be wrong in that...?

With plans to tour our boat on the great Lopp and then the Islands, I no longer wanted to rely on pumpout stations

    Disgusting.

what is the big deal with pump out? And it would be a lot easier to add an overboard discharge than ripping out heads and plumbing and replacing by composting which nobody will want to buy anyway

and you think find a place to dump you dry crap will be easier ?

what type of heads don’t I have now ?

The Raritan systems can pump/ treat/ leagley discharge from your type III holding tank.

I know the geek lakes can be an issue, so hold a bit then, but trust me, thousands of boats go the loop without a turd turner.
