    I have a 2004 cabo 35 flybridge with 2 - 450HP 3126B engines.
They appear to run consistently hot - 195 - 200D

I have just replaced the port heat exchanger and cleaned the core on the starboard side.
The raw water impeller was checked prior to launch.
I believe these engines should be running around 185D. Any ideas?

Are you sure the engines are actually running hot as most of those boat / engine packages had to have a shunt installed at the gauges. Do you have digital or analog guages.

I have analog gauges. We put a heat gun on the engines and they are running 10 degrees lower than the reading on the guages. Still seems high to me.

ask your cabo dealer to install the shunts and you should be fine.

They're supposed to run this hot from what I've seen and I ran many sets when new. I'd usually see 196-198 degrees on the CAT displays........Some of the 3126B's even ran 202-204 at cruise when brand new or they might have been the c7's ........

I recently did a sea trial on a 2005 32' Topaz express with the same motors. Both ran at 198 degrees... I was told Cat used higher temp thermostats to meet tier 2 emission standards (at that time). That boat ran like a bat out of hell.

Have you called your local marine Caterpillar dealer and asked them? I'm sure they'll confirm what everyone else is saying on here.

Those temps are normal for 3126B engines.

Edit for specs: The regulator (thermostat) is not fully open till 208 F
