One of the most STUPID ideas ever:
Attracting sharks, Great Whites, Tiger and Whalers etc. by using burley, blood, fish and then:
Add the sound of a boat.
Add sound and vibration of swimmers and divers breathing through regulators and there you go.

Now thousands of sharks relate SCUBA diving with food.
In this example, at least the GW went for the person provoking, rather than a casual diver or swimmer.

Just my rant for the week!

Well said. Like when a killer whale snaps & kills one of it's "trainers". I'd be pretty pissed too if you locked me in a glass of water for 25+ years.

Those guys are locals here on the Gold Coast.
What is not shown is that the Tiger shark is actually hooked up on a line, so I doubt it would have been able to get a good grip on the swimmer, although that would have made the clip a lot more fun! Darwin at work.

I agree. Sometimes we get caught up in our pursuits of thrills and excitement and fail to consider all the possible consequences. In this case to prove what? That I'm brave enough or stupid enough to get locked in a protective cage and play mind games with sharks? Meanwhile it trains them to a dangerous behavior.

This reminds me of a person I met once in Jamaica who was breeding and training Rottweilers to be vicious guard dogs. They had uniformed trainers holding raw meat in the yard and released the dog just too late to catch the trainer before he leaped the fence. What a disgusting concept. One that has led to deaths of innocent people as well and then the dog put down for doing that it was sadistically trained to do.
