A nice pic of the "Lady Gayle Marie"...the lighting on the name board doesn't seem to show the name well at all. Maybe they should have done it in back lit letters. That probably would have taken away from the classic look they were going for. http://photos.marinetraffic.com/ais/showphoto.aspx?photoid=519351&size=full
Is Burger Boat still in business? Does anybody know whether Burger is still in business? The yard is shut down and only a few people seem to be left at their main offices (all the others are laid off). The haven't signed a yacht contract either since 2008 (other than two small commercial projects which are finished). It would be a shame if they close down as well.
They are alive per the conversation I had with Julien a month or so ago in their FLL sales office. Slow as most of the industry is, but alive.
Wow... and they seemed to be doing quite well for awhile. I hope it turns around for them as I know alot of people that work there and as a former employee.
Did I mention that Burger has a new website? If not, well I am now noticing it. The photos look really great on the website! Check it out for yourselves below. Home Page | Burger Boat Company * "Sea Owl's" Atrium
With the christening of the first Burger Boat 48 Cruiser called "Blue Boat Home", the company is now advertising that the second hull in this 48 Cruiser mini series is available for immediate purchase. It is already under construction and an owner can still come in and make their own changes. It really is a small variant of their bigger vessels of the past. The craftsmen that span three generations currently at the yard should feel proud of their achievement. Hopefully the second hull gets sold quickly. Here is a look at the first hull in the series. https://www.yachtforums.com/threads...-cruiser-48-blue-boat-home.30262/#post-262261
Probably the time to buy the 48 if interested as the aluminum was likely purchased before the tariffs went into effect.
