It's probably just my old age but it seems to me that there is more of a haze in my engine room / bilge area than it use to be when the blowers or not running. Carver 440 with Cat 3116 motors and no Airsep. It seems to be worst when the boat is not moving and of course the blowers off. My oil consumption over the season has been about 3 quarts on one and 2 on the other with around 150 hours of use. Is this normal and should the haze be there?? A boating friend of mine says it seems normal ........any thoughts ??

I'm answering my own post !!.......I spoke with Caterpillar today. The bottom line is the 3116 motor with the old style breather will have more blow by ant idle due to the configuration of the rings.......He said they don't completely seat until under a load.....so more blow by at idle......run her up !!
