Are Catalina's good boats?

    I was thinking about buying a Catalina 440, 445 of 470. Are these good boats? I've never sailed before but my goal is to cross the Atlantic someday.

    Ocean cruising with a Catalina

    I know traditionally Catalina's haven't been considered the best in ocean cruising yachts but what are your thoughts on their Ocean Series (385 - 470). Are these built to be better for ocean cruising or are they the same thing as all their other boats just bigger. I'm planning on buying a boat that after retirement, I can circumnavigate the world with so I want it to be ocean worthy. Also please disregard my last post.
