This topic has come up before. Please do some searches on YF.
With that, I'm sure new comments will come in here shortly.

Many years ago (80s & 90s) I did manage a Striker and an aluminum Roamer. Both had the Capac systems and they worked very well at that time.

We had it on another striker and have it now on Our current boat. I guess they are good as we have never had a bad reading. I was told that I had to replace one because it was previously bottom painted.

They work well, but you should change the part on the hull bottom every 5-7 years as it does wear out.

Thanks for the replies. Used system on a 46 Hatteras and it was flawless. I liked the no zinc aspect. Same on the aluminum hulls I presume? Interested because looking into a 95' aluminum vessel.

The aluminum hulls I dealt with had zincs in addition to the capac.

I’ve seen the capac unit that is strictly a monitor for measuring whether or not you are adequately protected (zinced), but I’m thinking about the system with the multiple anodes (?) that create the necessary current to protect, I think it is called suppressed catholic protection.
