Would still take a 719 Spyder over the Toy, and I don't even like Porkers.

Stayed up late last night to watch the reveal. Enzo must be doing a couple hundred RPMs in his grave. If they don't sell every one they build next year, then the sports car segment has lost its heartbeat. (no Chevy pun intended)

Pretty amazing especially considering the price and performance. Never been a big Vette fan but this is pretty nice.

Now... I hope all these wonderful cars are driven the way they should be driven. Too many old farts cruising 10 below speed limit in brand new corvettes. :) at least they usually stay In the slow lane

Hopefully the new C8 outruns it’s stigma...

To be fair, the 718 GT4 and Spyder are both significantly more expensive than the Supra... like 65% more.

Base 718 vs Supra is almost dollar for dollar... and on pure performance the Supra wins, hands down.

I got a chance to take a brief ride in one today.

    It does not disappoint.

Grr.... What grinds my gears is that the Toy is almost a last Gen Beemer, like asking top dollar for a Chrysler Crossfire that was a 10 year old SLK.

I'm sure it goes really well, but it's the price-point that's going to be the killer. Will it have the quality the old ones had, still see one every morning.

HOW is it a last gen Beemer? The chassis is a clean-sheet design based on an architecture (CLAR) that in its entirety is only 4 years old.

The only old ones I've ever seen still running have either been babied, rarely driven, or entirely rebuilt/restored.... so I couldn't comment on their original quality, but I'm sure the Mk V is up to Toyota's modern standards, which means it'll last forever like they all do.

No, same platform and engine as BMW Z4, sourced from BMW.

I can't fit in any of them so I'm not an expert. Overpriced match box cars.
Answers will come in a few hours when our part of the world start waking up and were snoozing..

The two are "related", but they aren't twins.

And those concerned about this fact should watch this video:

And Subaru BRZ’s twin the Toyota Scion FRS. This approach lowers the development cost for new models.
