The s/y Galileo is a 50M long, three masted schooner-rig yacht of Turkish build. Built by Aegean Yacht Yards, the Galileo is said to be the crown of their production and also represents their largest yacht to date. The Galileo clearly brings us back to the glorious windswept classic schooners of the bygone era.

This Aegean yacht features an abundance in the use of woods. This encompases areas on the exterior as well as the interior. Most of the exterior decks are all finished with teak wood from the Burma region. The use of wood was extended to veneering the superstructure of Galileo. Even throughout the interior, wood use in application is prevalent.

In tune with the interior of Galileo, the accomodation plan called for two large suites below the main deck. If one takes a look at the plans below, it will be evident that there is one suite forward in the bow and the second, aft. Both of these rooms are full-beam accomodations. There are other rooms, including the two VIP suites as well as a triple accomodating suite.

Continuing inside but one deck above on the main deck, the main saloon can be found. The space was almost divided into half to allow for a cosy but yet open dining area and a lounging and entertainment area as well. The more forward area of the space is the dining area which features an impessive exotic wooden table with seating space for 12. The dining chairs are wooden as well with intricately-made soft material upholstry. The aft-half of the saloon, features the lounging and entertainment area. This area features two settee type sitting areas with matching wooden and glass resting/cofee tables. A mere four steps up a mini-stairs will take you to the aft exterior through the wooden and glass saloon doors.

This region features another exotic and impressive oval wooden table for an Al Fresco experience. This table also seats 12 and for additional seating there are 4 other chairs attending to two small wooden tables for a more intimate feel. A wooden bar is also available so odering your cocktail or drink wouldn't be a hassle. Raised panels feature as some of the design elements on the wood around the exterior. From here, one can travel up to the sundeck via stairs opposite the bar.

The open Sun deck is vast and mainly uncluttered. It features a navigation control station to the Port aft side of the space, an 'L' shaped seating area with table and open areas for steamer type chairs. Moving towards the maindeck via the same stairs, one can use the wrap-around maindeck to access the foredeck.

The foredeck features space for an open air jacuzzi where the salt laden breeze is sure to be in abundance. In addition to this, there is space for tenders and toys.

Here are some statistics on the s/y Galileo:
