I'm interested in purchasing the 504 CPMY, my concern is trucking. The hardtop / flybridge appears it will need to be removed....and possibly the aft hardtop as well...
I'm out of Long Beach, CA.... looking to find one back east, Florida or Texas, some great buys out there, planning for it to be a live aboard.
Has anyone transported one of these boats? What had to be done to prepare for truck shipping?
    Thank you

There is a trucking web site where you can enter specific information and independent insured haulers will give quotes.
I have thought the same thing as I'm interested in a raised pilothouse and there are many located in Wash State.
It's not going to be cheap with all the permits and daytime running restrictions.
Sorry I can't remember the web sites name.
I actually think there was a TV cable show that highlighted these haulers.
    Try googling

I did this recently in the Fall and it was a mess. Stay away from a company named AbleBoatTransport (rated F on Better Business Bureau) or any other company that is a broker and farms out the load to individual truckers. Use companies that have their own trucks and haul for boat manufactures. Carver uses Joule Yacht for their transports, I recommend you use them, they're out of Florida. As for the disassembly/assembly most of the newer boats are plug and play and designed to be taken apart/put back together but I think the 504 is an older model - call Carver and they will tell you and send you instructions. They are very nice to deal with... I had a marina take mine apart and I put it back together. There are companies out there that do the whole thing but I'm not familiar with them. If you can, find one you can transport over water, these big boats over land are tricky.

The flybridge, arch and hardtop will all need to come out and it will be a two truck load. Depending on the height of flybridge and arch, the arch may be able to stay on the flybridge.

    Good Luck!

All the disassembly and reassembly aside, what is the per mile cost to transport a wide heavy load ( 56' x 16' ) from Washington State to the Tennessee River ?
I'm gonna guess at $20,000 total transport costs including permits.

I think it's somewhere between $7 and $9 per mile, I paid closer to $9 when I transported mine. You're estimate sounds close for that large distance. The weight won't be an issue as much as the dimensions. The cost goes up dramatically if you need police escorts. If I recall the total height when it's on the trailer cannot exceed 14'.

Also, props and rudders will need to be removed.

Like a said before, be very careful what company you use because there's a good chance of damage if it's not blocked properly on the trailer and is on the proper trailer. Also ask for proof of insurance and get your own additional binder with your own carrier to be safe. Sometimes your carrier will already cover the road transport, you just need to tell them when it's happening.
