Wedge Too at Antibes a few days prior to her delivery to her owners...
Spectacular design by Philippe Starck

finalist for the SYS awards 2003
What's your take on the Wedge? Several guys at our marina were looking at pictures of the Wedge and the opinions varied. Some loved it, others didn't care for it. You might say... "they're divided by the wedge".
Personally, I've never met a Feadship I didn't like. You've photographed hundreds of yachts. How do you like the Wedge?
lots of teak
A beauty at night
What's my idea about W2 ??
At first I was in doubt. I remember seeing the first photos on her when she just launched and lying next to the shed at De Vries.
At that moment I could clearly see that she was very big and very special.
Later when I saw the first photos of her at the IYCA Antibes, I was still having doubts... Looked a lot like a big wedding cake...I remember that I had that feeling.
My reluctance about her disappeared the moment I saw her for real. She's awesome...
Since then, I have seen her a few times, also moving on the water : great yacht with a superb design. Very original and very different from what is being built today.
Wedge Too at Monaco
Here she is coming to Monaco for the first time
It was the late afternoon of December 26, 2002
Her arrival at Monaco had been posted at the Capitainerie for days... Lots of people where watching...
W2 docking at Port Hercule
W2 at Monaco
Neatly wedged between two 50 meter yachts.
I've wondered for quite some time what this yacht resembled. In a way, it reminds me of an old Trumpy, but your description is much more befitting... it does look like a wedding cake!
I was in Beirut on June the 5th and what did I find ? W2, in the country of her owner. He is the vice prime minister of Lebanon. It is weird to think that a man of his age (67 years old), can enjoy such a design. I have seen pictures of her interior and have to say it is "special".
Funny how the "wedge" of terra firma in the background follows the lines of Wedge Two. This is the first time I've seen the gang-plank deployed. Great pic Wallace!
